SanMar Holiday DIY Cookie Kit Instructions

Your kit includes: x4 Vanilla Sugar Cookies, x4 Icing Bags, and x3 Sprinkle Packets

Instructions

  • Store cookie kit at room temperature.

  • Gently knead each icing bag for two minutes to soften icing.

  • Snip the end of the icing bag with scissors. Start small! You can always cut off more if needed.

  • Outline your cookie first with a smaller opening of the icing bag. This will create a barrier when flooding the cookie. To cover the entire cookie (also known as flooding), snip a larger opening on the icing bag. Starting at the outline or barrier you created, gently squeeze the icing bag and go in a counter-clockwise motion around the cookie working your way inward until we fully flooded. Use a spoon or toothpick to smooth out the icing or carefully pick up the cookie and gently shake while holding it flat on the palm of your hand until icing is smooth.

Design Tips

  • ‘Wet-on-Wet’ technique : After flooding the cookie you can add details when the icing is still wet. This will ‘embed’ the design for a smooth finish.

  • Use sprinkles to create designs and patterns or mix icing colors in a separate bowl (you can spoon the icing on the cookie and smooth it out with a toothpick)

Once you are finished with the design, allow to air dry to harden or enjoy them immediately. Cookie will remain fresh for 7 days in an air-tight container.
